1. Introduction

Salt Family Chiropractic (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit our website at https://www.saltchiro.com/ (the “Site”), how that information is used, and the choices you have.

This policy applies only to our Site. It does not cover information you provide to your chiropractic provider as part of your care, including any protected health information (PHI). The use and disclosure of your health information is governed separately under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available at our office.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Scope of This Policy

Our Site is informational. It does not include contact forms, intake forms, or any feature that collects health information directly.

Appointment booking and any patient portal features are provided through Jane (Jane.app), a third-party scheduling and practice-management platform. When you book an appointment or use the portal, you are interacting with Jane’s services, and any information you submit there is collected and handled by Jane under its own privacy policy, not this one. We encourage you to review Jane’s privacy policy at https://jane.app/privacy.

We do not collect health data, insurance information, or payment information through this Site.

3. Information We Collect

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through analytics and hosting technologies, including:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location

  • Browser type and version, device type, and operating system

  • Pages viewed, links clicked, and time spent on pages

  • The website or source that referred you to our Site

  • Date and time of your visit

This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies and is generally aggregated or pseudonymous. It is used to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve it.

Information You Provide Directly

Because the Site has no forms, we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or similar details directly through the Site. If you choose to email us at the address above, we will receive whatever information you include in your message.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies, primarily for analytics. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help recognize your browser and collect usage information.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when a cookie is being set. If you disable cookies, some parts of the Site may not function as intended.

5. Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on the following third-party services, each of which may collect and process information under its own privacy policy:

  • Framer — our website hosting and building platform, which provides built-in site analytics. Privacy policy: https://www.framer.com/legal/privacy/

  • Google Analytics — used to measure and analyze Site traffic and usage. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out using Google’s browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

  • Google Search Console — used to monitor and maintain our Site’s presence in Google search results. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

  • Jane (Jane.app) — used for online appointment booking and the patient portal. Privacy policy: https://jane.app/privacy

These providers process information on our behalf or as independent controllers in connection with the services they provide. We do not control how these third parties use information collected through their own technologies.

6. How We Use Information

We use the information collected through the Site to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site

  • Understand how visitors find and use the Site

  • Monitor Site performance and search visibility

  • Protect the security and integrity of the Site

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share the limited information described above only with the third-party service providers listed in Section 5, who process it to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our practice, our patients, or others.

8. Data Retention

Information collected through analytics is retained for the period set by the applicable analytics provider’s settings and policies, after which it is deleted or anonymized. We retain email correspondence only as long as needed to respond to and document your inquiry.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information collected through the Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), may give you the following rights regarding personal information we collect through the Site:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose

  • Right to delete personal information we have collected, subject to certain exceptions

  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information

  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA)

  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Please note that personal information covered by HIPAA and California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) is exempt from the CCPA and is handled separately under those laws, as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 14. We will verify your request before responding.

11. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no industry-standard approach to responding to DNT signals, our Site does not currently respond to them.

12. Children’s Privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided us information through the Site, please contact us so we can address it.

13. Links to Other Websites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including our booking provider. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
