Shockwave therapy, also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy or ESWT, is a non-invasive treatment that delivers focused high-energy acoustic waves directly into damaged or chronically painful tissue. These acoustic waves are not electrical shocks but rather precisely controlled pulses of mechanical energy that penetrate deep into the treatment area, reaching structures that surface level treatments cannot access.
